Future Media Hubs x Tinkerlist
Introducing the Belgian start-up Tinkerlist and their journey with Future Media Hubs

What is Tinkerlist?
TinkerList.tv is a cloud-based application to support media production teams creating Talk Shows, Game Shows, Live Shows, Online News, Esports, Visual Radio and Events.
It supports the workflow through ideation, writing a script and rundown and handle media. In the technical environment of the studio, the online rundown integrates with prompters, graphic engines and play-out devices. The integration with graphic engines and play-out devices (like vMix) is done via the application TinkerList Cuez. This application handles media downloaded from the script and enables automation of media cueing during recordings. It’s a revolutionary and state-of-art application that means a digital revolution in TV and Live Event production.Various software programs are used to color the drawings and simulate camera movement and effects.
Tinkerlist and Future Media Hubs
Tinkerlist became part of our 'start-ups pool' back in 2017, when they got introduced to us by VRT Sandbox. They immediately started working on different projects within the whole public broadcaster. In return VRT gets to use their technology in different productions, making the work of the producers way easier.

These are some of the productions that used the technology of Tinkerlist. Scroll down and get to know more about each project!
VRT Sandbox x Tinkerlist: 'De Allesweter'
Back in 2015, VRT Sandbox and TinkerList collaborated on “De Allesweter”, a game show broadcasted on VRT’s television channel “Eén”. Instead of having a million different files stored in different places, TinkerList combined all the information of the program in just one tool, from the camera script and run down to autocue and visuals.
This successful match with a game show has led TinkerList to become the preferred software platform for production management at VRT. Their content management system is applied to various game show programmes and talk shows that are broadcasted on VRT’s television channels.
Tinkerlist x Vive le vélo
What is Vive le vélo?
Vive le vélo is a talk show that is made on location in France every evening during the tour. We are the team that travels around France in the tracks of the tour. We have a rule that we always set up our table within a radius of 50 kilometers from the finish so that we actually travel along with the tour without coming too close. The concept is that Karl Vannieuwkerke looks back on the tour-day for an hour every evening with three guests at the table: an expert, and then two people who are of course very interested in the tour and the race, but no ‘real race-connoisseurs’.
Use of Tinkerlist within Vive le vélo
It has really been a very big step forward for Vive le vélo. Both for the editorial team in Brussels and for the small main team in France, it is a major improvement, especially because communication between each other can be much easier.
For example, one of the great advantages is that they can easily attach ‘readers’ to the rundown: short 20-30 second images that Karl has to talk about, so that they can already view them on the spot and adjust them during the course of the day. In the past they were just forwarded. The moment they booked a jet time, they were sent from Brussels to – which still happens – LSM in France and they only saw them for the first time in the evening during rehearsal. Now, from the moment they are edited, they are attached to the rundown and the team can view and adjust them. This is a great advantage, which means that they can also update the texts more quickly in function of the image.
That’s one aspect. It’s also super cool that you can customize almost an entire rundown to your own program because there are so many options. The team also spent some time in the beginning with Erik and Charlotte to get that right. For example, Karl really likes to have his questions in capital letters and a button was easily added that allows you to put lowercase letters in capital letters directly. Those are the simple things.
Don’t hesitate if you are not familiar with TinkerList yet. It’s something new, but don’t hesitate to take the step!
Tinkerlist x RTBF
Thanks to one of the Future Media Hubs events, Tinkerlist got in touch with RTBF, the public broadcaster of the French speaking part of Belgium. They were interested to implement the Tinkerlist technology into their tv shows as well.
